This journey has been as much about spiritual awakening as it has been about physical movement. Through yoga, I’ve discovered a connection that runs deeper than I imagined—one that ties my energy and growth to the very DNA I share with my family.
How It Changed My Life And My Family’s Energy
For years, yoga was a distant memory for me—a practice I had dabbled in but left behind as life swept me into its relentless current. Recently, though, I found myself returning to yoga, not by coincidence but through an inner call, almost as if my soul had been nudging me all along. What I didn’t expect was how deeply it would transform not only my life but also ripple outward to affect my family in profound ways.
The Awakening: How Yoga Reignited My Energy
When I returned to yoga, it wasn’t just my body that began to shift. My energy started to rise, moving beyond the emotional and energetic patterns I had inherited from my family. In yoga, they call this “raising your vibration”—a process that happens when you align with your higher self and release what no longer serves you.
What I didn’t anticipate was how this shift would affect my family. At first, I noticed no changes then some family members seemed to resist the currents that were rising in their physical bodies. My mother (who is going through menopause) was suddenly getting high blood pressure and collapsed once; for that she was taken to hospital twice and both times the blood tests revealed nothing wrong with her and though I was resistant to tell her what I was doing I knew my energy rising had a lot to do wit the changes she too needed to harbour. It was as though my rising energy was creating a mirror, reflecting their fears and unresolved emotions.
The DNA Connection: Energy as a Family Ripple Effect
I believe this isn’t just coincidence or psychology; it’s something encoded in our very being. Energy flows through the familial bonds we share, and when one person raises their consciousness above the family’s collective level, it creates a ripple effect.
For some, this ripple can feel uplifting, encouraging them to grow and heal alongside you. But for others, it can trigger resistance. They may cling to old patterns or struggle to understand the discomfort they feel as the collective energy shifts.
I’ve seen this firsthand. As my vibration began to rise, some family members experienced physical symptoms—illness, hypertension, or even anxiety. These reactions weren’t punishment or random occurrences; they were signs of their resistance to the energy flow.
Fear, Resistance, and Illness: A Family’s Journey
Fear is at the root of this resistance. Change is uncomfortable, especially when it challenges deeply ingrained patterns passed down through generations. And yet, these moments of discomfort are opportunities for growth. They’re invitations for us to let go of what no longer serves and allow new energy to flow freely.
I’ve had to gently remind my family—and myself—that this isn’t a process to fear but to embrace. When they ask why they feel uneasy or why certain emotions are surfacing, my message has been consistent:
“Let go. Trust the flow. Your body and soul are asking you to release, not resist.”
Yoga teaches us that when we resist, we suffer. But when we surrender, healing begins.
A Message for Those on the Path of Transformation
If you’re on a similar journey of spiritual awakening, I encourage you to look closely at how your growth affects those around you. You may notice that as you rise, your family begins to shift as well. Some will welcome it; others may resist. Be patient with them—and with yourself.
This is not an easy path, but it is a beautiful one. Yoga has taught me that we are not just individuals; we are part of a collective energy, deeply interconnected. When one of us heals, we offer that healing to everyone we touch.
Allow the Energy to Flow
To my family—and to anyone navigating the discomfort of transformation—I offer this:
• Fear is temporary; love is eternal. Let the energy move through you, even if it feels uncomfortable.
• Resistance creates suffering. The more we cling to the past, the harder the process becomes.
• Healing is a gift. When we allow energy to flow, we invite healing into our lives and the lives of those we love.
Yoga has reminded me that life is not about control but about surrender. As I continue on this journey, I know there will be moments of resistance—within myself and within my family. But I also know that when we surrender to the flow, we invite something far greater than ourselves: the chance to awaken, to heal, and to truly connect.
This journey is not just mine; it belongs to all of us. And for that, I am deeply grateful.
If you’re walking this path, I invite you to join me. Let’s rise together, and in doing so, lift those we love.
